Company History

Superior Plantscapes’ company history began in 1969 when our founder, horticulturist Archie Amate, felt that people in office buildings shouldn’t be cut off from Mother Nature. He focused his nursery on developing plant species and cultivation techniques suitable for indoor settings. One of his evergreen plants, named the “Amate,” continues to be sold at various nurseries to this day.

Fast-forward to today, Archie’s nursery has evolved into a full-service plantscape company. We now sit on two acres of land, boasting a 30,000-square-foot greenhouse, a state-certified pesticide applicator, an interior design studio, a display fixture fabrication workshop, and one of the largest specialized service truck fleets in the area. We serve a broad clientele that ranges from local clinics to Fortune 500 companies throughout Southern California.

We take pride in our 45-year history. Over the years, we’ve become one of Southern California’s leading interior plantscape companies. The majority of our new clients come from referrals, solidifying our reputation as a reliable business.
